Environmental Health Department on top of coronavirus prevention in Ho Mr Aaron Amedzo, Ho Municipal Environmental Health Officer, has said the city was being monitored to ensure compliance with Government’s directives towards preventing the spread of COVID-19. He said the Assembly had activated its rapid response teams, and embarked on sensitisation campaigns with special focus on the central market, and communities along the border with the Republic of Togo. f.d.a gh The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says it has not tested and approved any drug, herbal medicine or food supplement for the treatment of COVID- 19. In documents made available to the Ghana News Agency , the FDA, however, said clinical trials were ongoing on some products, and it would communicate the information on any product, which would be approved. The FDA also reiterated its advice to the public not to use any alcoholic beverage as hand sanitizer because it would not protect them against the novel coronavirus. According to reports from local news channel, Joy News, the suspected patient who works with a mining company reportedly returned from abroad this week through the Kotoka International Airport and flew to Obuasi by helicopter. It furthers that the said affected person looked sick upon arrival at the airport, and would even not allow anyone to come close. After reporting himself to a health facility in Kumasi where a series of tests were conducted, results came out positive.
